The challenge
Month-end stock reconciliation relied on a surveyor walking each stockpile with a GNSS rover. It was slow, risky around active machinery, and missed the shape of irregular piles.
What we did
We fly each site monthly with an RTK drone and fixed ground control, then process a DSM and segment stockpiles automatically. Volumes are computed against a base surface surveyed before stockpiling.
Outcome
Volumes now arrive the next morning, in a dashboard and a CSV export for the ERP. Nobody needs to walk the piles.
